Youth Issues Focus of Forums

February 1, 2009

Today’s society is hard for any teenager, especially for youth struggling with extra burdens. In an effort to build the capacity of those working with students, Knoxville Leadership Foundation is hosting a series of Community Forums.

There will be a forum held each month from February to May focusing on specific challenges youth encounter and how to deal with them. A panel will be at each forum made up of organizations who have worked with KLF’s Center for Communities program as well as other subject matter experts.

Anyone who works with youth is encouraged to attend to find out more about the specific issues and the resources available within our community. Along with the organizations, subject matter experts will be answering questions and offering further insight into the topics. To RSVP, call (865) 524-2774 or e-mail .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

KLF is a faith-based organization that believes our city can be transformed through reconciliation. Reconciliation occurs when people from different communities and walks of life roll up their sleeves, work side-by-side and really begin to understand and appreciate each other. This is what our programs do: they bring people together to work on targeted problems in our city that put people at serious risk. Our programs are effectively and efficiently staffed and managed. All people have to do is plug in, join in and watch transformation happen.
